Today the RCMP track suspects by following credit card transactions and purchases. It's no different looking back 125 years ago. While most know the name 'The Montana Kid', only historians will recognize his supposedly real name, Sean Lafferty.

Interestingly enough, the surname 'Lafferty' is of Irish decent and loosely means 'Doer of Valiant Deeds'. In Swift Current Saskatchewan, a sales ledger was unearthed with a signature by 'S. Lafferty'. The above image shows the purchase of 50 cans of Beef Hash from the General Store. While the last name Lafferty wasn't uncommon, it does provide a possible piece of evidence that Barclay's Brush may have been located in Southern Saskatchewan.
