Revolver, arguably the world's first commercially successful handgun. The pistol's revolutionary "five shooter" revolver design offered unparalleled firepower and is considered to have ushered in the era of the "Wild West". While most of these rare firearms can be found in the western United States, some have been discovered in western and even eastern Canada. Deceased gun collector John "Sparrow" David Thompson claimed to have such a pistol in his possession in Halifax. The gun was said to have belonged to 'The Montana Kid' and small markings which ran down the handle represented men who had been gunned down in duels.
